For many years the good old SLR camera had been the de facto standard for many a professional photographer. Then came along the digital camera in the 90′s which took the photography world by storm and revolutionized it. From being huge clumsy gadgets, these cameras soon started to evolve into sleek sexy gadgets. Now you had a choice to make – is it the standard compact point and shoot digital camera or the DSLR digital camera?

does-more-megapixel-better-cameraI was just browsing around while taking a break from writing my latest iPhone app when I came across this incredibly intelligent poster from Nikon. It certainly caught my eye (for some time I must say) before I thought that I should actually write a post based on the poster. I’m no expert photographer and the first thing I look at when choosing a digital camera is the number of megapixels. I’ve had a 2MP, 5MP and most recently an 8MP digital camera each time “upgrading” under the impression that the camera is in fact better than the previous one.

panasonicKudos to Panasonic to come out all guns blazing! Panasonic has recently announced a new range of models for their LUMIX and AVCHD Lite camcorders. A staggering 10 models in each category was introduced in the Nanyang Siang Pau. Obviously Panasonic has some pretty aggressive plans to beat this recession. According to the company’s statement these models are suitable for both beginners and professionals as there is a wide range of models available.
