Which would you prefer – More twitter followers or RSS subscribers?

I’ve recently been spending a lot of time on Twitter. And it is interesting to note that there are quite a number of Malaysians on Twitter now. Internet marketers love Twitter and its now very popular among bloggers too. I have been tweeting my recent posts regularly on twitter and it seems to be getting me new followers most of the time. There used to be a time when bloggers solely depended on RSS subscribers but now it seems that they are spending most of their time marketing their blog on twitter to the extent that there seems to be not much of emphasis on RSS subscribers anymore. But is this the right thing to do?
There is one school of thought which says that RSS readers are more important than twitter followers since there is so much of “noise” on twitter. Although that is partly true, I do think that when you have enough interesting topics that you tweet on twitter, you will start to get a good following who are very much interested in your tweets and your posts as well. Not only do they follow you for your blog posts, but it could also be because of the occasional re-tweet or some personal information about yourself too. So you tend to “connect” with your followers and able to effectively market to them since you are building a web of trust.
I’d like to get your thoughts on this (and of course you can follow me on twitter by clicking the button on the right sidebar as well
). As usual, comments are welcome and this time I am also running a poll. Cast your votes and I will run this poll for a month to get enough data which makes sense. I’m sure you would like to know what other bloggers think as well right?
Update:
Here’s a video where Kevin Spacey tries to explain what Twitter is all about to David Letterman. I found this video to be hilarious.
Mr. Letterman’s conclusion – Twitter is a “waste of time”!

That’s actually a great question and come to think of it I believe RSS is more of a commitment than following on Twitter.

Of course I would love to have more followers there but it’s not just about having followers but about interacting with them. If they are on my blog they have a lot more chances of seeing certain things and getting to know me in a deeper level than just reading my daily tweets.
Oh and by the way I just followed you o Twitter
All the best,

Hi Eren,
I have always noticed that Twitter followers tend to visit my blog more often than RSS subscribers which results in more interaction. This is ideal for me and I tend to lean towards more twitter followers. Thanks for the follow on twitter and I just followed you back as well
