iphone 3G S maxisIt’s been almost a month since my last post and I finally decided to get back to blogging. I’m sure many of you are aware of the hype surrounding the all new iPhone 3G S that was announced a few weeks ago. Being a devout Apple follower, I couldn’t help myself from ordering the first batch that is due to arrive in Malaysia on the 31st of July. Yes, I signed up with Maxis for a 12 months package and the phone costs me RM 1910. I have a 016 number which I am converting to Maxis, but it looks like that means I would not be able to sign up for a 24 months package and enjoy a further discount on the iPhone 3G S itself.

Here is a quick look at the rate plans offered by Maxis:

Maxis iPhone 3G S rate plans

It definitely looks like the packages offered by Maxis is relatively cheaper than the previous packages offered during the launch of the iPhone 3G. I’m pretty sure that this is going to encourage more iPhone 3G and iPhone 3G S sales in Malaysia and subsequently increase the market share. Being an iPhone app developer, nothing would make me happier than seeing more iPhone sales as that would translate to a better reach for my apps as well :) .

So what’s new on the iPhone 3G S? Here are a few features:

  • 3 MP Camera
  • Video Recording
  • Faster processor and improved performance
  • Voice Control
  • Compass
  • Improved battery life on WiFi

A great phone just even better! Lookout for my post on the actual performance of the iPhone 3G S soon.
