Thanks to maxis we Malaysians can now enjoy the iPhone 3G right now. Definitely the iPhone has had several shortcomings since its introduction a couple of years ago. Yet, people have learnt to live with these disadvantages only because of the cool factor of the iPhone and the stability of the OS. But Apple has not ignored repeated requests from users to include the features that is pretty common in other phones. Hence the iPhone firmware release 3.0 has been very well received both by supporters and critics. Even though a sneak preview was shown, the actual firmware will be available for download only sometime in summer. But our friends at engadget have been able to gain access to the beta version and have tried it out and done a nice video review.
Here is the video review from engadget:
I found this video to be a great walk through. It is definitely a teaser and seducer for all those who are currently sitting on the fence deciding whether to purchase the iPhone 3G or not. I am definitely looking forward to all of the features detailed in the video.
My top 5 list:
1. Copy, cut and paste function
2. MMS feature
3. Turn by turn navigation support
4. Bluetooth support for accessories
5. Virtual keyboard in landscape mode for typing text messages
I do have to wait until the dev team actually jailbreaks and releases a pwntool for 3.0 since my iPhone 3G is jailbroken and not from Maxis. But for something as good as this, I’m willing to wait!
Did you find any that excites you? What are your top 5 features in firmware version 3.0?
